Amazon Returns Now Available at Staples Canada Retail Stores

Today marks the national launch after a months-long pilot project

In an exciting new development for Canadian customers, Amazon and Staples Canada have teamed up to offer a convenient return service for Amazon purchases. As of today, all 298 Staples retail locations across Canada are accepting label-free and box-free returns for eligible Amazon items.

This national collaboration marks the first initiative of its kind for Amazon in Canada, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to providing seamless solutions for its customers. By leveraging Staples’ extensive retail network, Amazon aims to make returns as easy as possible, further enhancing the customer experience.

Rachel Huckle, CEO of Staples Canada, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “I believe this partnership underscores the strength of our brand, our extensive reach, and especially the dedication of our outstanding associates, whom I am immensely proud of. I believe Amazon recognized something compelling about Staples. They clearly did the legwork to grasp our capabilities and how we could meet both their requirements and our customers’ needs.”

Gopal Pillai, Vice President of Worldwide Returns and ReCommerce at Amazon, echoed this sentiment, highlighting Amazon’s dedication to customer satisfaction. “Our goal is to make buying online as easy as possible and help customers love their purchases. But we know there may be times when a customer needs to make a return, which is why we work hard to continue to raise the bar in offering a hassle-free returns experience.”

The process for returning Amazon items at Staples stores is straightforward. Customers start by visiting the Amazon.ca “Your Orders” page online or using the mobile app; clicking “Return or Replace Items”; and following the prompts to generate a QR code. This code is then used to drop off eligible items at the nearest Staples store, where they will be packed and shipped at no extra cost. The items must be in their original manufacturer’s packaging, eliminating the need for additional shipping boxes.

Gopal Pillai elaborated on the benefits of the Staples collaboration, stating “Amazon always works backwards from customer needs and innovates on behalf of customers across the board. It’s the same thing here as well, and we are constantly innovating on behalf of customers to offer easy and convenient return options. Given the almost 300 Staples locations across the country, they are a very natural fit for this initiative, and reinforce Amazon’s positive economic impact in Canada.”

Amazon’s extensive return network in Canada includes more than 4,000 drop-off points, including Staples, Purolator, and select Couche-Tard and Canada Post locations.

For those interested in taking advantage of this new return service, details and locations can be found on the Staples store locator page.
